I’m in the process of launching a new blog called The Bad Marketing Blog (visit now to sign up for the newsletter and be one of the first to know when the new site is live).
The Bad Marketing Blog will focus on exposing crappy marketing advice and risky tactics while helping small business owners like you find the right options for reaching your unique customer groups.
There are two ways you can get involved even before the site goes live:
1. Email your marketing questions to me at email@example.com. If your question has broad appeal and I feel I can offer you feedback or ideas, I might turn your question into a blog post so others can learn from that feedback. If you do this, please include your name, company name, and website address if you’d like them included in the blog post. If you prefer to remain anonymous, that’s fine too. Just mention it in your email.
2. There will be a Pet Peeves section on the site where everyone from marketing and PR professionals to small business owners will share the worst marketing advice they’ve ever received, marketing tactics that backfired, or a basic marketing-related pet peeve of theirs. The best will be featured on the homepage, while others will be featured in a larger collection in the archives. You can submit yours (no more than 50 words please) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include “Pet Peeve” in the subject line, and include your name, company name, and website address (the first two being required).
I hope you’ll join me there when the blog launches over the next couple of weeks. And I’ll give you a heads up here when that happens just in case you miss it in the newsletter. But why risk it?
